We were privileged to welcome Caroline Voaden to our Academy on Thursday 7th November.
Caroline is the new MP for South Devon, (which was previously the Totnes constituency) and this area includes our Borough Road campus. Caroline is a Liberal Democrat MP and has been in post since defeating the previous conservative candidate, Anthony Mangnall in July.
The students were able to ask her a variety of questions as Caroline is extremely experienced having been a member of the European parliament and the party's leader in the European parliament.
Amongst other roles she has chaired a number of charities for women, supported the resettlement of offenders and helped to set up the JustGiving website. The students found the meeting to be insightful, whilst finding Caroline to be extremely interesting, engaging and honest in her answers.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Caroline for her time and her proactive nature in gaining the views of young people.
